The intelligent Smart Home central unit: connects intelligent devices in a scalable way, while ensuring optimum data security.
The Bosch Smart Home II controller is essential for operating your Smart Home devices and forms the basis of your smart home. All information converges via the controller.
The Smart Home II controller enables you to operate Bosch Smart Home devices and partner devices via the ZigBee radio protocol and your home network. It is designed to meet the requirements of the international Matter standard.
Why use a controller for your Bosch Smart Home system? It works like a central hub: it gathers all system information, connects your Bosch and partner devices, and controls functions, scenarios and automations.
Your Bosch Smart Home II controller saves all data locally by default, and gives you full control of integrated partner services via the cloud.
Your Bosch Smart Home II controller is the interface between your Bosch Smart Home and partner devices, and the Bosch Smart Home application. This is where you control your smart home.
The controller lets you control your smart home in a variety of ways:
Communication between the Smart Home II controller and the application is protected by state-of-the-art encryption, even when accessed remotely.
The choice is yours:
Data security is guaranteed in all cases.
Your Smart Home II controller updates itself at regular intervals thanks to automatic, free software updates.
This guarantees maximum security and ensures that your smart home is constantly getting more functions.
What happens if the Internet goes down? The Bosch Smart Home II controller doesn't store your data in a cloud, but locally on the controller itself. This means your system remains independent, and the local execution of key functions, scenarios and automations is maintained even in the absence of an Internet connection. So your Bosch Smart Home system is reliable and secure, whatever happens.
What if you need to replace or reset a device? You can back up your individual system data and settings on a mobile device or in a private cloud - and restore them at any time.
Thanks to the new Matter connection standards, smart devices from different manufacturers can communicate with each other. This means you can use your Bosch Smart Home devices in other Matter Smart Home systems, and control them via their application.
How does it work?
Thanks to the step-by-step instructions in the app, installing and commissioning the Bosch Smart Home II controller is child's play (see below).
You can operate the controller intuitively using the function button, the Reset button and the visual feedback with clearly visible LEDs.
Its compact size of 100 x 100 x 29 mm (H x W x D) and various positioning options (wall-mounted or free-standing) make the Smart Home II controller suitable for any home.
The Bosch Smart Home II controller works with second-generation Bosch Smart Home devices, as well as with the following products: outdoor siren, motion detector, Twinguard, Twist, flood detector and compact connected socket.
As a Bosch Smart Home controller user with first-generation devices, you can always rely on their reliable system functionality and regular software updates.
Step 1 of 4
Your dream of a smart home starts with setting up your controller. Installation is quick and easy.
Connect the network cable to the Bosch Smart Home controller and to an available LAN port on your Wi-Fi router.
Plug the Smart Home controller into the power supply.
After start-up, watch the controller's LEDs for initialization status.
Note: if you're connecting your Bosch controller to the Internet for the first time, this may take a little longer. Your controller then automatically checks for software updates and upgrades. If necessary, these are downloaded and installed automatically. This process can take up to 30 minutes. During this time, you cannot continue commissioning the Smart Home controller.
As soon as the LEDs flash green continuously, your controller is ready for use.
Step 2 of 4
The next step takes just a few moments.
Download the Bosch Smart Home application. You'll need it for all installation, configuration and operation.
One more important piece of information: to configure the controller, the mobile device (smartphone or tablet) on which the Bosch Smart Home app is installed must be connected to the Wi-Fi network of the router to which you've connected the controller.
Step 3 of 4
Link your Bosch Smart Home II controller with the Bosch Smart Home app as the first device in your system.
Then start the application and select the "Smart Home Setup" option.
Scan the QR code on the back of your Smart Home controller.
Follow the step-by-step installation instructions provided by the application.
Step 4 of 4
Proceed in the same way to add components to your Bosch Smart Home system. Always follow the operating instructions for the corresponding device.
Now you're ready to enjoy your new smart home!
Important note: the Bosch Smart Home II controller works with second-generation Bosch Smart Home devices, as well as the outdoor siren, motion detector, Twinguard, Twist, flood detector and compact connected socket.
